Kallaji Rathod was a Rajput warrior, famous for is chivalry against Muslim attackers. He worshipped Kali and received a boon from her that ‘his head will never fall till he did not turn it back, while fighting with the enemy’. The fort of Chittor was under attack of enemy, Kalla ji Rathod was protecting it against a massive force, along with his uncle Jai malji Rathod. His uncle was wounded on legs and Kalla ji took him on his shoulders and both of them kept fighting. A Muslim in his own side, who knew about the boon Kallaji had, deceitfully shouted ” your uncle has been be-headed”, Kalla ji turned back to look for his fallen uncle, who was actually alive, and lost the protection of the boon. Kalla Ji was be-headed by the enemy and he is said to have carried on fighting besides keeping his father on his beheaded shoulders for quite some time before falling. A samadhi of Kallaji was made alongside the Kali temple.
About The Disciple....Narayan Guruji
Mr. Narayan is a government employee, who works 6 days a week for Madhya Pradesh Government. About 20 years back, after completing his prayers as he got up from his seat, he fainted for a while with the body getting numb and saw a serpent in the unconscious state. During this time the God, namely kalla rathod gave his introduction and selected Mr.Narayan as a disciple to do beneficiary activities for the people, and since that very daykalla rathod has been coming in his body for spiritual purpose. He felt getting possessed by some force, to which he had to surrender. Thus transformed an ordinary, soft spoken man into a restless roaring man, waving his sword towards all ills; speaking in a 400 year old dialect that is little understood today and has no expressions(words) for many modern things like car, telephone etc. And as guided by the god he has been conducting the spiritual activities at his temple located in Thandla, jhabua district, Madhya Pradesh , India . Narayan Guruji, desires to be offered ‘kesar and milk’ while his body is used by Kalla ji to cure the ill. Since then, every Sunday afternoon, Narayan guruji visits this temple, offers ’Aarti’ and gets possessed by Kalla ji. His voice changes to baritone, and speech attains Rajput manor and body language turns to that of a warrior.
Kalla ji Rathor, in the body of Narayan guruji cures ills. people come to him for ailments ranging from various troubles of the eyes- he cures them by poking the sharp pointed tip of is sword into the eye, and moving it inside, followed by some smearing of ‘vibhooti’ and splash of ‘holy water’. The disease is over in one or two trips, as directed by Kalla ji himself. Many ailments are curd by running of sword across the body and touching the troubling part of the body and some sprinkling of ‘vibhooti’ and splash of ‘holy water’. If disease needs ‘operation’, the sword is pressed into the affected part, Kalla ji inserts his fingers, and ‘closes’ the cut with ‘vibhooti’ and ‘ghee’. There is no blood seen during or after the operation. One does however see a mark of incision after the operation.
Patients with diseases like, brain tumor, arthritis, migraine, paralysis and bed sours are treated by Kalla ji Rathod. While Kalla ji cures ailments, devotees sing bhajans to please him. Kalla ji releases the body of Narayan guruji after all the people are cured. After this Narayan guruji is the same soft spoken, docile man, who remembers nothing of the whole days play.
